First Shot at Big Tech—and She Made It!

With a tight recruiting timeline and limited engineering and interview experience, Zoey strengthened her resume, project storytelling, and technical preparation. She successfully completed four Amazon interview rounds and landed a 2026 New Grad SDE Offer on her first shot at Big Tech.

Zoey joined Drill Insight during the final semester of her master’s program at NYU, when the New Grad recruiting timeline was already extremely tight. At the time, she had limited engineering experience, a less competitive resume, and little confidence in technical interviews.

With support from Drill Insight mentors, Zoey rebuilt her resume, strengthened her project experience, and improved how she communicated her technical background. She also completed multiple rounds of coding practice, behavioral interview preparation, project storytelling, and mock interviews.

When Amazon introduced a new AI-assisted coding interview format, her mentor helped her quickly understand the process and develop the right preparation strategy. After successfully completing four interview rounds, Zoey received an Amazon 2026 New Grad SDE Offer—her first Big Tech offer from her very first Big Tech interview.
